Tampa, get into the groove! Berry Gordy and his Motown family are making their way to Tampa! Legendary Motown songs will fill The Straz Center for the Performing Arts as Motown The Musical joins its stellar 2014-2015 Broadway Series. Opening on March 17, 2015, Motown The Musical plays the Carol Monsani Hall until March 22.
Berry Gordy is the music mogul who founded Motown Records, the label that launched the careers of legendary singers like Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, and Michel Jackson. Based on the autobiography of Gordy, this sensational musical also tells the tale of the whole Motown family, the stories behind some of the most legendary Motown classics and Gordy’s relationship with Diana Ross. Motown The Musical is also a celebration of the music that helped change the shape of American life.
Don’t miss Motown The Musical as it takes the center stage at the Carol Monsani Hall at 7:30 PM on March 17 to 19 (Tuesday to Thursday), at 8 PM on March 20 (Friday), at 2 PM and 8 PM on March 21 (Saturday), and at 2 PM and 7:30 PM on March 22 (Sunday). Each show runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes with one intermission.
