Motown Musical Sacramento | Community Center Theater

A big celebration happens in Sacramento just before summer officially sets in! Motown The Musical, the phenomenal Broadway musical that celebrates the legendary Motown music that forever transformed America, is part of the blockbuster 2015-2016 Broadway Sacramento. Opening on May 18, 2016, Motown The Musical plays the Community Center Theater for two weeks only until May 29, 2016.

Based on the autobiography of Berry Gordy, Motown label founder, Motown The Musical is not just one man’s tale but also of the music that captivated everyone and shattered racial barriers that segregated American society. From his years as an aspiring boxer, Motown The Musical follows Gordy as he changes career paths to becoming a music tycoon who successfully launched the careers of legendary artists like Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, and Michael Jackson. Motown The Musical also takes its audiences to the drama behind the scenes and shares the stories behind some of the greatest Motown hits.

Ain’t no mountain ever high enough as Motown The Musical takes center stage at the Community Center Theater at 8 PM on evenings of Tuesdays through Saturdays. The matinee shows every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday are at 2 PM. The run time of Motown The Musical is two hours and 40 minutes with one intermission.
