The Fantasticks, the phenomenal and longest-running musical in the world, is now on its open run at the Snapple Theater Center in Off Broadway with eight performances every week.
The Fantasticks, the romantic and funny musical from Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, is the story of a girl, a boy, their fathers, and a wall. In The Fantasticks, the fathers erected a wall to keep the boy and the girl apart. Unknown to the youngsters, the fathers built the wall and staged a mock feud to drive their willful children together. Narrating the story is El Gallo, who later becomes instrumental in driving the lovers apart and bringing together them together in the end. Aside from an intriguing plot, The Fantasticks also feature timeless songs like Soon It’s Gonna Rain, Try to Remember, and They Were You.
The show times for The Fantasticks nightly at the Snapple Theater Center are at 8 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and at 7:30 PM on Sundays. The matinee presentations are at 2 PM every Wednesday and Saturday and at 3 PM every Sunday.
