Rocky Balboa returns to the ring in an all new musical inspired by the hit film starring Sylvester Stallone. After a successful run in Hamburg, Germany, Rocky leaps the pond to American shores, bringing the action and excitement to audiences at the Winter Garden Theatre in February 2014.
In time for Valentine’s, celebrate Rocky’s triumphs in the ring and in the heart as the struggling fighter from Philly looks to defy all odds. The show features music by composer Stephen Flaherty and and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens who won Tony Awards for their work in Ragtime. Rocky also includes the iconic song, “Eye of the Tiger,” made famous in the Academy-award winning film.
A treat for “Golden Circle” ticket holders will be the opportunity to witness the final 20 minutes of the musical, wherein the epic final match between Rocky and his nemesis, Apollo Creed, plays out in a full-contact boxing match on stage, right where the action is.
Previews for Rocky at the Winter Garden Theatre begin in February 11, 2014. Opening Night is scheduled for march 13, 2014.
