The newsboys of New York City dance their way to Appleton! Newsies, the crowd pleasing and award winning Broadway musical inspired by the Disney movie of the same name, is part of the 2015-2016 Kimberly Clark Broadway Across America Fox Cites series. Opening on February 2, 2016, Newsies explodes on the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center stage until February 7, 2016.
From its acclaimed and smash hit run on the Great White Way, Newsies makes its much anticipated National Tour and is all set to captivate the Appleton theatergoers this February. Based on a real and historical Newsboys Strike in New York in 1899, Newsies retells the inspiring tale of a ragged group of newspaper boys who bravely makes a stand and stands up to the city’s powerful publishers. Winner in Best Choreography and Best Score in the 2012 Tony Awards, Newsies features book by Harvey Fierstein, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and music by Alan Menken.
Don’t miss the high energy and spirited explosion of dance and song as Newsies takes center stage at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on February 2 to 5 (Tuesday to Friday) at 7:30 PM, on February 6 (Saturday) at 2 PM and 7:30 PM, and on February 7 (Sunday) at 1 PM and 6:30 PM. The running time of Newsies is 2 hours and 35 minutes including one 20-minute intermission.
