Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, one of Broadway’s top grossing musicals is coming to Houston, TX starting next season.

Tracing the life and career of Carole King, the musical is portraying the music legend from her beginnings as a teenager in Brooklyn, up until she becomes one of the 20th Century’s bestselling singer-songwriters. King has fought her way into the music industry, and at just 17 she released her first hit – Will You Love Me Tomorrow. When she met her husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin, her life was also accomplished as a wife and a mother. But it wasn’t until her started going through difficulties in her personal life that finally managed to find her true voice and identity as an artist. Along with her best friends, the composing duo Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, King wrote some of the most influential pop songs in musical history, such as: You’ve Lost That Lovin Feeling, Here You Come Again and He’s So Shy.

The creative team for Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is formed by Academy Award nominee Douglas McGrath, who developed the book, and director Marc Bruni. Music and lyrics are provided by the starring duo King/Goffin, alongside fellow songwriting couple Weil/Mann, and include some of the most iconic pop hits like: You’Ve Lost That Lovin Feeling, Natural Woman, Take Good Care Of My Baby, So Far Away, Up On The Roof, Locomotion and Beautiful.

The Tony Award-winning Beautiful – The Carole King Musical can be seen at the Hobby Center in Houston, TX, starting next Broadway season from May 31 until June 5, 2016.
