From a shy Brooklyn teenager with dreams of writing pop songs to one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is a story about talent, perseverance and inspiration.

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical showcases classic hits such as: You’ve Lost That Lovin Feeling, Natural Woman or Take Good Care Of My Baby, and it has been one of the most beloved plays since its first appearance on the Great White Way in January 2014. By the time she reached her 20s, Carole King had it all: the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career in the record business, being accomplished as a mother as well. Along with her best friends – composing couple Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, King wrote the melodies and lyrics to some of the most iconic pop songs in musical history such as: You’ve Lost That Lovin Felling, which was the most played song in radio history, Here You Come Again, Somewhere Out There and He’s So Shy. King’s first solo album, Tapestry, is the proof that all is not what it seems when it comes to her fairy tale lifestyle. But it is in this period of time that she finds her true voice and her identity as an artist.

The book for Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is developed by screenwriter Douglas McGrath, who has received an Academy Award nomination for his collaboration with Woody Allen on the screenplay for Bullets Over Broadway. Direction is handled by Marc Bruni, associated on numerous Broadway shows which include: Book Of Mormon, The Explorers club and Old Jews Telling jokes.

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is coming to Denver, CO at the Buell Theatre starting on July 19 to 31, 2016.
