West Side Story Washington DC | National Theatre

One of Broadway’s true standouts continues to shine throughout the years. West Side Story lights up the stage once more at the National Theatre in Washington DC in June 2014 and will take you on a heart-wrenching ride like the very first time it played.

Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical favorite has been bringing tears to audiences all over the world for more than half a century. This new touring production brings with it all the memorable music and songs in a darker, grittier world reminiscent of the same violence and hatred that still haunts the world today. Shining through this darker side of West Side Story, is the love between Maria and Tony, the young couple who must choose between each other of their loyalty to their friends and family.
