How The Grinch Stole Christmas Richmond | Landmark Theatre

‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical’ comes to Richmond, VA for a week-long run at the Landmark Theatre from November 27 to December 2, 2012.

The musical is based on Dr. Seuss’ children’s novel and Chuck Jones’ annual TV special, both of the same name. More than the 90 minutes of charming and sentimental gags, rhymed choruses and colorful visuals – simply put a whole lot of Christmas joys and cheers; ‘Grinch’ is a witty and timeless reminder of the season’s true essence. With the season becoming more and more about frenzied consumerism and materialism at its peak, the true essence of Christmas has been lost among kids and adults alike, but just like the Grinch whose heart grew three sizes larger after returning Christmas to the merry clan of the Whos and realizing that Christmas “doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas … perhaps … means a little bit more,” this musical has plenty of valued lessons to share, all of which lie underneath layers of wholesome stage antics and performances, all of which both the kids and adults can bond over with to make the holidays more meaningful and resonant, and not just about the gifts, the parties and acquisitive cheers.

‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical’ will play the Landmark Theatre at 7:30 PM on November 27 to 29, at 8 PM on November 30 and December 1, and at 6:30 PM on December 2. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on December 1st and 1 PM on December 2nd.
