‘Flashdance – The Musical’, this season’s highly anticipated Broadway adaptation comes to Tempe, AZ as part of its inaugural tour, staging a week-long run at the ASU Gammage from April 30 to May 5, 2013.
An inspiring and highly entertaining production based on the ‘80s cult film of the same name which popularized many disco favorites including ‘Maniac’, ‘Gloria’ and the iconic ‘Flashdance – What a Feeling’, this new musical will awaken the dreamer and dancer in everyone as it follows Pittsburgh native Alex Owens in her journey filled with hardships and moonlighting but one that wraps up in success, fulfillment and an unforgettable water stunt that others have tried to emulate.
Show times for ‘Flashdance’ in Tempe are at 8 PM on April 30, 7:30 PM from May 1 to 4 and 6:30 PM on May 5, with matinee performances at 2 PM on May 4 and 1 PM on May 5. The performance running time is 2 hours 35 minutes with 1 intermission.
