‘Nothing to Hide’ Brings Magic to Off-Broadway, Neil Patrick Harris Directing

Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris is set to direct an Off-Broadway production of the live theatrical magic show Nothing to Hide. Created by magicians Derek DelGaudio and Helder Guimarães, the show will play a limited engagement run this fall in the Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City.

Following an extended run at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse (also staged by Harris), the show will begin its Off-Broadway run October 23. An official opening date has been set for November 6 with a continued run through December 8.

Harris is best known for his work on television in shows such as Doogie Howser, M.D. and How I Met Your Mother. His screen work includes films such as Stormship Trooper and Undercover Brother. Additionally, he has had Broadway roles in Proof and Cabaret.

In a statement Neil Patrick Harris shared his thoughts on the show, “After seeing Derek and Helder perform their amazing set at the Magic Castle I knew they needed to be seen by a wider audience. My suspicions were right – It broke the Geffen Theatre’s box office records in L.A and extended 5 times! I couldn’t be more pleased to now have a discerning New York theatre audience get to experience Derek and Helder for themselves. I’m positively proud to present this pair of unprecedented prestidigitators. Say that 5 times fast…”.

Nothing to Hide is an unconventional magic show unlike any other. “Through a series of diverse and engaging vignettes, [it] leads the audience on an amazing and memorable journey into a world of pure astonishment.”

In addition to DelGaudio who writes the show and  Guimarães who creates the magic choreaography, other members of the creative team include artistic direction by Glenn Kaino, production design by Dave Spafford, lighting design by Adam Blumenthal, and music by Pedro Marques. The show is produced by Werner Entertainment and Ostar Productions.
