Motown the Musical Detroit | Fisher Theatre

Berry Gordy is coming home to Detroit this fall! Motown The Musical, the sensational new jukebox musical based on the autobiography of Motown chief Berry Gordy, will be in town for the 2014/15 season of Broadway in Detroit. Opening on October 21, 2014, Motown The Musical has a four-week run this fall at the Fisher Theatre until November 16.

From being a wannabe boxer from Detroit, Berry Gordy’s journey took him to becoming the founder and the main man behind the Motown record label that launched the careers of The Supremes, Diana Ross, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, and a countless others. However, Motown The Musical tells not only one man’s story but also that of the whole Motown family whose music shattered racial barriers and shaped American society.

Motown The Musical plays the Fisher Theatre at 7:30 PM on weeknights (Tuesday to Friday), at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Saturdays, and at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM on Sundays. Motown The Musical runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes.
