Mark Campbell, Julia Udine Head ‘Phantom of the Opera’ Tour
The revitalized national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera will be led by Mark Campbell and Julia Udine. Campbell will star as the Phantom opposite Udine who will play Christine. Performances of the production are set to begin November 27, 2013 in Providence, Rhode Island.
The cast will also feature the talents of Ben Jacoby as Raoul, Jacquelynne Fontaine as Carlotta Giudicelli, Craig Bennett as Monsieur Firmin, Edward Staudenmayer, as Monsieur André, Linda Balgord as Madame Giry, Frank Viveros as Ubaldo Piangi and Hannah Florence as Meg Giry.
The show is produced by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh and directed by Laurence Connor. In a statement Andrew Lloyd Webber shared, “It’s wonderful to have a new production of Phantom touring America in the same year that the show celebrates 25 years on Broadway. Director Laurence Connor has done an amazing job and this production has received huge critical acclaim in the UK.”
The creative team for the production includes Andrew Lloyd Webber with music as well as a book created with Richard Stilgoe, choreography by Scott Ambler, set design by Paul Brown, lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by Mick Potter, musical supervision by John Rigby, and orchestrations by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Tour stops for the show include cities such as Chicago (January 9 – March 2), Philadelphia (March 19 – April 13), Cincinnati (April 30 – May 11), Boston (June 26 – July 20), and Des Moines (September 10-21), as well as several other cities.
