Les Miserables Des Moines | Civic Center

‘Les Miserables’, the legendary musical from Boublil and Schonberg comes to Des Moines this fall for a week-long engagement at the Civic Center Main Stage from October 2 to 7, 2012.

This is a freshly re-imagined and strengthened version of the Broadway and West End classic packed with a grittier, tighter and more compelling storytelling, more rousing scenic designs inspired by the artworks of its original author, Victor Hugo, and more emotionally charged scores and tunes giving rise to show tune standards such as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” and “Do You Hear the People Sing?” This new revival is highly-rated and praised by critics; “the storytelling is clearer, the perspective grittier and the motivations more honest,” writes NY1-TV, no wonder The New York Times hails ‘Les Mis’ as “an unquestionably spectacular production from start to finish.”

Show times for ‘Les Miserables’ in Des Moines are at 7:30 PM from October 2 to 6 and at 6:30 PM on October 7. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on the 6th and at 1 PM on the 7th. The performance running time is 2 hours 50 minutes with 1 intermission.
