Kristin Chenoweth Spends New Year’s Eve at Vegas’ Smith Center

Loveable actress and Broadway starlet Kristin Chenoweth will ring in the New Year in Las Vegas. The Emmy and Tony Award winner will perform a one-night only 2 hour show New Year’s Eve at Las Vegas’ Smith Center of Performing Arts. This will be her first time performing at the world class cultural center located near Downtown Vegas.

In a statement, Chenoweth shared her excitement about the performance saying, “I can’t believe I finally get to come back to Vegas. My director and I, Jay Alexander, will fashion a show just for Vegas.” She went on to share details about the show saying, “I will, of course, do songs I’m known for by my fans, but also newer material that I just started singing. Opera, musical theater, and country pop will all be well represented. I will be doing a show with background singers, actors and dancers with a small orchestra. There of course is dancing! What is New Years without that!”

Representatives shared with the Las Vegas Sun in a statement saying,”Our locals said they didn’t want to venture onto the Strip but still wanted to go out to celebrate and welcome the New Year. They wanted a choice, and Kristin’s accomplished singing career with three solo albums certainly makes her the best of the breed to take on any perceived Strip competition.”

Chenoweth is no novice to the stage. She is incredibly accomplished having  won a Tony Award in 1999 for her role in You’re A Good Man, Charlie  Brown. She was also nominated in 2004 for the performance she gave in the  show Wicked. She has also won awards for her work in film and  television including “Pushing Daisies” and “Glee”.
