Glen Close Set to Return to Broadway in the Fall

Three time Tony Award winner Glenn Close will be making her return to the Broadway stage in the Fall of 2014.  In an interview at the Sundance Film Festival, where she was promoting her new film Low Down, the actress shared, “I am planning a play in the fall.” This comes after a 15 year absence from the stage.

Close denied to comment as to which play she would appear in stating, “I’m not sure what the producer’s plan is. I think he might want more of a cast before.” However she did offer some insight into the type of play it would be saying, “The world that it is in is a world I know very well. It’s just a very complex play. It’s very challenging. It’s like somebody said, `A mountain of a play.’ I’m not coming back in a musical.”

Close has much experience working on Broadway with appearances in productions such as A Little Night Music, The Play What I Wrote, Sunset Boulevard, Death and the Maiden, Benefactors, The Real Thing, Barnum, The Crucifer of Blood, Rex, The Member of the Wedding, The Rules of the Game and Love for Love.

The actress  also has an extensive film and television history which includes movies such as Nine Lives, The Stepford Wives, 101 and 102 Dalmatians, Tarzan, In & Out, Air Force One, and television shows such as Damages, The Shield and The Simpsons. Upcoming projects for the six time Oscar nominee include Low Down, Guardians of the Galaxy, Anesthesia, and 5 to 7.
