Elvis Lives Tour Returns with 100 Performances for 2012-13
Elvis Presley Enterprises has teamed up with On Stage Touring, LLC to present “Elvis Lives: The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Event” that will run through spring 2013.
The tour will begin in earnest on January 13 in Gainesville, Fla., though an eight show performance week will be held in Wilmington, Del. starting October 2 to celebrate the 100th Season Anniversary of the DuPont Theatre. The tour will then run through April 27 when a performance is held at the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center in El Paso, Texas. Othe cities the tour will visit include Galveston, Texas; Modesto, Calif.; Lincoln, Neb.; Fargo, N.D.; Pittsburgh and Amarillo, Texas.
The tour will be extensively longer than the last version of the tour.
“Due to incredible demand from audiences coast to coast, this season’s tour will travel to sixty cities, presenting 100 performances, more than triple the number of last seasons tour,” a press released said.
The show is described as “an unforgettable multi-media and live musical journey across Elvis’ life featuring finalists from Elvis Presley Enterprises’ annual world wide “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest,” each representing Elvis during different stages in his career. The Elvis tribute artists will be joined by a live band, back-up singers and dancers.”
On Stage Touring, LLC Chief Operating Officer Brian Brigner spoke in a statement about what makes the show exciting.
“The partnership between On Stage Touring and Elvis Presley Enterprises provides the only authentic touring showcase of Elvis tribute artists for fans who want to experience the music and live performance charisma of one of the most popular recording artists in history,” he said. “Our thriving production showcases each performer portraying Elvis in one of four eras: the 1950s, 1960s, his movie career and his concert years, so it is the complete musical package.”
