Donnie and Marie Take Christmas Act to Los Angeles

Brother and sister act Donny and Marie Osmond will bring their Christmas show to Los Angeles for a three-week residency in December.

“Donny & Marie – Christmas in Los Angeles” will open December 4 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, and will run through December 4. The show is based on the popular “Osmond Family Christmas” specials that have been featured on television. The duo perform classic Christmas songs as well as other hits from their respective careers.

The live version of the production was held on Broadway in 2010, and last year traveled for engagements in Chicago, Detroit and Toronto. Both Osmonds have other stage experience, as well. Donny Osmond has appeared in “Beauty and the Beast,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “Little Johnny Jones,” while Marie Osmond has been seen in “The Sound of Music” and “The King and I.”

In other Donny Osmond news, he recently spoke to Liz Smith of the Huffington Post, where he offered his insights into subjects as varied as Mormonism (Osmond is a Mormon) to Justin Bieber. About the latter, he explained that as a former teen star himself, he knows what Bieber is currently going through.

“[R]ight now, you know what I’d really like to do? I’d love to work with Justin Bieber,” he said. “He’s so talented and he’s so young. I know what he’s going through. I’ve lived what he’s living through right now. Working with him would complete a circle or sorts from me. And he might find it a worthwhile experience himself.”

Osmond also spoke of his ever-busy schedule.

“I’m like everybody else. I get tired sometimes,” he said. “But, really, this is what I do. I’ve been doing it since I was five years old. And at this pace. Slowing down doesn’t feel right.”
