Broadway’s Mamma Mia Reboots Cast with Alan Campbell, John Hemphill, Jon Jorgenson, Paul DeBoy

New principals Alan Campbell, Paul DeBoy, John Hemphill, Jon Jorgenson, and Elena Ricardo joined the cast of Mamma Mia! at the Broadhurst Theatre on Monday, February 3, 2014. They join Mamma Mia!‘s Broadway “Dynamo” trio which consists of Judy McLane (Donna Sheridan), Felicia Finley (Tanya), and Lauren Cohn (Rosie).

Tony Award nominee Campbell will play Sam Carmichael. DeBoy will make his Broadway debut as Harry Bright. Former Mamma Mia! cast member Hemphill will take on the role of Bill Austin. Jorgensen will also make his Broadway debut in the production as Sophie’s fiancé Sky, while Mamma Mia! ensemble cast member Ricardo will take on the lead role of Sophie Sheridan. The talents of Jacob Pinion (Pepper), Thomasina E. Gross (Lisa), and Traci Victoria (Ali) are also included in the show.

Mamma Mia! tells the story of a carefree mother whose less  than  spotless past catches up to her as her daughter’s upcoming wedding  soon  approaches.  A daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings 3 men from her mother’s past back to the island they had last visited 20 years ago. The production features hit songs such as “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Money, Money, Money,” and “Take a Chance on Me.”

Since its inception, Mamma Mia! has been seen  worldwide by more than 50  million people. Mamma Mia! recently reopened at its new Broadway home, the Broadhurst Theatre, and is now celebrating 13 years on Broadway; the tenth longest-running show in Broadway history with more than 4,000 performances which has made it one of Broadway’s top selling musical productions. There have been 38 productions in 14 languages in over 400 cities and the original West End production is now in its 15th year in London.
