Broadway Orlando 2013-14 Series Highlighted by ‘Book of Mormon,’ ‘Jersey Boys,’ ‘Once’
“The Book of Mormon,” “Jersey Boys” and “Once” are among the highlights of the newly announced Broadway Orlando 2013-2014 season.
In total, the season will consist of six shows, plus two “special season” presentations. The regular portion of the season includes “The Book of Mormon,” “Flashdance The Musical,” “Once,” “War Horse,” “Evita” and “Ghost The Musical.” The two special presentations are “Mamma Mia!” and “Jersey Boys.” Those two shows have played in Orlando previously.
“Our 2013-2014 season is the most spectacular lineup we’ve ever presented in Orlando, said Ron Legler, president and CEO of Florida Theatrical Association (FTA), in a statement. “We have garnered the very best shows to mark 25 years of FTA’s success in bringing the best of Broadway to Orlando and celebrating our final season at the Bob Carr.”
Ticket packages start at $196, which includes admission to the six regular season productions. Tickets to the special presentation shows must be purchased separately. Special Patron season ticket packages offering premium seating and other amenities start at $668 per person.
“Mamma Mia!” will kick off the season and run October 3-9, and will be followed shortly by the previously announced “The Book of Mormon” production. That engagement will run October 29-November 10. The final show of the 2013 calendar year will be “Flashdance,” which is set to run December 3-8. The production is a popular musical adaptation of the 1983 film of the same name.
Kicking off the new year will be “Once,” which will run January 28-February 2. 2014. The cast album from the musical just won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
“War Horse” will run February 25-March 2, 2014, and will be followed by “Evita,” set for March 25-30, 2014. After that is the second special presentation, and “Jersey Boys” will run April 15-27, 2014.
Finally, “Ghost The Musical” will close out the season, and will play May 13-18, 2014.
