Alli Mauzey Returns to Broadway’s ‘Wicked’ for 10th Anniversary

Alli Mauzey will return to Broadway in the role of Glinda for the 10th Anniversary of Wicked. She will succeed Katie Rose Clark whose final appearance in the role of Glinda will be September 22.

Mauzey has experience working in other Broadway productions and off-Broadway as well. Her Broadway credits include Lenora in Cry-Baby and Brenda in Hairspray. She has starred in regional productions of It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane as Sidney and City of Angels as Mallory among other productions. Mauzey has previously played Glinda on Broadway as well as part of the touring company of Wicked.

Other cast members in the production include Catherine Charlebois as Nessarose, Carol Kane as Madame Morrible, Derek Klena as Fivero, Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Lindsay Mendez as Elphaba, John Schiappa as Dr. Dillamond, and Michael Wartella as Boq.

Wicked is based upon the novel by Gregory Maguire. It tells the story of the witches you were first introduced to in the  Wizard of Oz. It traces the origins of the witches in a unique way that  truly allows the audience to get to know them and understand them on a more  personal level. The audience follows the friendship of the witches and watches  them step into their destiny as the production progresses.

The production is directed by Joe Mantello and has musical staging by Wayne Cilento. It features a musical score by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone.

Wicked has won more than 50 major awards including a Grammy Award and three Tony Awards for Costume Design, Scenic Design, and Best Actress in a Musical (Idina Menzel). There are currently nine productions of the musical worldwide in New York, London, Japan (Tokyo), Australia/New Zealand (Auckland), South Korea (Seoul), Latin America (Mexico City), a U.K. Tour, and two concurrent North American National Tours.
