Wicked Winnipeg | Centennial Concert Hall

Wicked Winnipeg | Centennial Concert Hall

After enchanting hearts on the Great White Way and across America, the witches are set to cast their spell on Winnipeg! Wicked, the multi-awarded and top grossing Broadway show that tells the fascinating tale of the witches in Oz, joins the exciting Broadway Across Canada series. Opening on August 20, Wicked takes the center stage at the Centennial Concert Hall until August 30, 2014.

Re-imagining the well-loved story of The Wizard of Oz, Wicked presents an interesting take on how the Oz witches came to be and affirms that there are always two sides in every story. Considered as a cultural phenomenon, Wicked is one of the biggest blockbusters and most critically acclaimed shows Broadway has ever seen.

Experience how Wicked works it magic as it opens at the Centennial Concert Hall at 8 PM on August 20 (Wednesday). The regular shows are at 8 PM from Tuesday through Saturday and at 7:30 PM every Sunday, with matinee performances on weekends at 2 PM and an additional matinee performance is scheduled on August 21 (Wednesday) at 2 PM. Wicked runs for 2 hours and 45 minutes with one intermission.

“The musical has some great songs that may already be familiar to you, especially for fans of “Glee” when with songs Defying Gravity, and For Good. Another recognizable song is Popular, heard in the 2009 movie “Zombieland” (starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Emma Stone… you know, the movie that introduced rule #2: the double tap? Watch that movie if you haven’t seen it. But I digress).” – Vincent Lee of ChrisD.ca

“Well I’m happy to say that Wicked is the best and most solid Broadway Across Canada production that I’ve ever seen. Hands down. Sorry Lion King, I hope you enjoyed your long standing reign.” – Mike’s Bloggity Blog
