Wicked San Francisco | Orpheum Theatre

Wicked San Francisco | Orpheum Theatre

When a little girl from Kansas literally drops in to the land of Oz, she is taunted by a Wicked Witch who seems obsessed with obtaining her jewelled shoes. But who was that green witch and how good was Glinda the Good in her magical bubble? Find out in the award-winning musical Wicked, as it blows into San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre from March 9 to April 16, 2016.

In a world of talking animals who can teach at universities, Munchkins, and powerful wizards and witches, a green girl named Elphaba cannot find her place. Until she and her sister attend the prestigious Chiz University where she begins a rivalry with the most popular girl, Glinda, which eventually turns into an unbreakable friendship that blurs the lines between what is truly good and wicked.

Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, runs for 2 hours and 45 minutes with an intermission break. Catch this blockbuster musical set in the magically twisted land of Oz at the Orpheum only from January 23 to February 17, 2013. Tickets and showtimes will be announced shortly. San Francisco Press Reviews
“There hasn’t been a show that has captured such a wide-ranging audience since Phantom of the Opera or Les Miserables. If you haven’t seen Wicked than it’s high-time to get yourself over to the Orpheum Theatre to see the San Francisco production. It’s definitely worth the ticket.”
The Broadway Critic Blog

“After a certain point, you really don’t care about the characters, since they have become cartoon-like. Many of Stephen Schwartz’s songs are repetitious with no hummable melodies. There is a ’70s feel about the songs, and they sound like many you have heard before.”
– Richard Connema of Talkin Broadway San Francisco
