Wicked Miami | Adrienne Arsht Center

The iconic witches of Oz are on their way to sunny Miami! Wicked, the record-breaking and Tony-winning Broadway musical hailed by Variety as a “cultural phenomenon,” will be at The Adrienne Arsht Center for three weeks from March 11 to March 29, 2015.

Before Dorothy ever set foot in Oz, two girls – the emerald-skinned Elphaba and the beautiful Glinda – met and became unlikely friends. Soon, their friendship gave way to rivalry and they morphed into the detested Wicked Witch of the West and the beloved Glinda the Good, respectively. Presenting a fascinating re-imagination of the beloved classic The Wizard of Oz tale, Wicked has won more than 50 awards and has been hailed as “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” by The New York Times.

Discover the hidden secrets of the Land of Oz as Wicked opens at The Adrienne Arsht Center on March 11 (Wednesday) at 8:00 PM. The evening performances from Tuesdays through Fridays are at 8:00 PM, on Saturdays at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and on Sundays at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with an additional matinee presentation at 2 PM on March 12 (Thursday). Wicked runs for 165 minutes with one intermission.

“For a Broadway show set in the whimsical and delightfully oddball world of Oz, the set and costume designs were appropriately outlandish. But when it opened on Broadway, Wicked also had two secret weapons: Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth as Elphaba and Galinda, respectively.” – David Cote of TimeOut

“In this mash-up of “Mean Girls”-meets-”Charmed,” “Wicked” tells the story of what happened in Oz before Dorothy landed, house and all. The Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) and Glinda the Good were actually BFFs in college.” – Rod Stafford of southflorida.com
