Wicked Honolulu | Neal S. Blaisdell Center

Wicked Honolulu | Neal S. Blaisdell Center

Get ready for a gathering of Munchkins, talking animals, flying monkeys, wizards and witches, and other Ozians, as Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, comes to Honolulu at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Concert Hall from November 24, 2012 to January 16, 2013.

They couldn’t be more different. One is perky, cute, rich, ambitious, and popular. The other is unusual, peculiar, tragic, and… green. These are the young girls who turn from rivals at their first day at Chiz University into best friends. They get caught up in events beyond their control that turn them into the most powerful witches in Oz. Glinda becomes celebrated as Good while Elphaba is cursed to become the Wicked Witch of the West. But as Glinda points out, β€œAre people born wicked, or is wickedness thrust upon them?” This is the story of the blockbuster musical Wicked.

The Neil S. Blaisdell Center is proud to host this award winning Broadway musical set in the magical land of Oz. Performances will run from November 24, 2012 to January 16, 2013. Showtimes and ticket information will be announced shortly.

The performance running time is 2 hours and 45 minutes with 1 intermission.

Honolulu Press Reviews
“The Blaisdell production is a carbon copy of what you would see on Broadway: pitch-perfect voices, beautiful stage design, trained dancers, well-practiced jokes and seamless transitions between scenes.”
– Christine Hitt of Honolulu Magazine

“We watch safely from our seats in the Blaisdell Concert Hall, but are transported nonetheless into an alternate universe that reflects and reveals our own. Without even noticing, we fall by way of whirlwind spectacle into Oz and come to care about the characters, the world, and what is right or wrong.”
– Ruth Bingham of Honolulu Pulse
