The Lion King Charlotte | Belk Theater

The Lion King Charlotte | Belk Theater

Blumenthal Performing Arts is proud to present Broadway’s Landmark Musical The Lion King as it comes to Charlotte from August 6 to September 1, 2013 only at the Belk Theatre.

The Lion King has become Disney’s best example of an animated movie being adapted to the stage and redefining the way people look at Broadway theatre. Simba, the young lion, at first brash, arrogant, and growing up hiding from his destiny, must learn what it truly means to be king of the Pride Lands if he wants to take back his birthright from his uncle Scar. With the help of his friends, Timon, Puumba, Nala, and the wise old Rafiki, Simba comes full circle in his journey as he returns home as a true King.

Feel the magic of The Lion King come alive at the Belk Theatre from August 6 to September 1, 2013. Performances will be at 7:30pm ever Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, while Saturday shows will be at 8:00pm and Sunday performances will begin at 7:00pm. Afternoon matinees will start at 2:00pm on Saturdays and at 1:00pm on Sundays. A special open captioned show will take place on the August 10 matinee, while the August 11 matinee will be audio described and interpreted. The performance running time is 2 hours and 45 minutes with 1 intermission.
