‘Pippin,’ ‘Matilda,’ ‘Kinky Boots’ Featured in Thanksgiving Day Parade

The casts of Broadway musicals Pippin, Matilda, and Kinky Boots will all be featured in this year’s 87th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade will be broadcast live on NBC November 28 from 9AM- 12PM EST.

The cast of Kinky Boots is scheduled to perform the finale of the Harvey Fierstein-Cyndi Lauper musical “Raise You Up/Just Be.” Other previously announced features in the parade include Big Apple Circus, Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Cirque du Soleil, Gavin DeGraw, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots with the cast of Sesame Street, Florida Georgia Line, the Goo Goo Dolls, Ariana Grande, Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri, NFL legends Bart Oates, Amani Toomer, and Hines Ward, Kelli Pickler, The Robertson family from A&E’s Duck Dynasty, Richard Simmons, and The Summer Set among several others.

Performances by the Radio City Rockettes, Broadway’s Motown: The Musical, and a special appearance by Carrie Underwood and members of the cast of  NBC’s upcoming The Sound of Music Live! are also scheduled to be a part of the line-up.

The 87th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade  is hosted by the cast of NBC’s Today which includes Matt Lauer, Al Roker, and Savannah Guthrie. The procession begins at 77th Street and Central Park West and travels down to Columbus Circle, turns onto Central Park South and marches down Sixth Avenue/Avenue of the Americas to 34th Street. At 34th Street, the Parade will make its final turn west and end at Seventh Avenue in front of Macy’s Herald Square.

Doug Vaughan, Executive Vice President of Special Programs and Late Night NBC Entertainment, shared in a statement, “For millions of families each year, Thanksgiving Day isn’t complete without tuning in to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We are thrilled to once again broadcast this national celebration to kick off the holiday season.”
