Award winning performer Liza Minnelli is offering a new concert tour that will hit major cities on the West Coast. She has currently listed tour dates in Los Angeles, CA at Walt Disney Concert Hall March 25, 2014 and in San Francisco, CA at Davies Hall March 28, 2014.
The tour will feature Minnelli and her incredibly talented band performing songs from throughout her groundbreaking career. Audiences will be blown away by her classic hits and her amazing talent which seems to stand the test of time.
Liza Minnelli is not only well loved, but she is also well accomplished. She has won Tony Awards for her work in Flora (for which she was the youngest woman ever to win a leading actress Tony Award at age 19), the Red Menace, The Act, as well as a special Tony Award in 1974 for “adding lustre to the Broadway season.” Minnelli has also won an Oscar for her performance in Cabaret. As if that was not enough, the singer is also a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner. Plus, she received the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 10th Annual Tony Awards Bash in Los Angeles.
In addition to the performances for which she won awards, Minnelli has wowed Broadway audiences in several other productions and left a lasting impression. In 1975 she agreed to replace an ailing Gwen Verdon in the Broadway run of Kander and Ebb’s Chicago. For a period of 5 weeks she played to sold-out audiences flawlessly with only one -week’s rehearsal. In 1984, Liza reunited with her Chicago co-star Chita Rivera in the Kander and Ebb musical The Rink and in 1997 Liza took over for an ailing Julie Andrews in Broadway’s Victor/Victoria.
Minnelli will perform an upcoming concert at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT, November 8, 2013. She will also be part of Lorna Luft’s Lorna’s Pink Party. The benefit show at NYC’s Birdland is set for October 14 and 21. Both evenings have already sold out.
