Lion King Des Moines | Civic Center

The Circle of Life continues at the Civic Center when Disney’s Lion King roars to life onto the stage. The multi-award winning spectacle is coming to Des Moines in April 2015.

Lion King continues to push the boundaries of musical theatre with larger-than-life puppetry and staging that left audiences breathless from the very first time it opened on Broadway. The animals of the African savanna gather at Pride Rock to welcome the birth of their new king, Simba. But danger is never far away in the shadows. Simba’s uncle, Scar, drives him away from the Pride Lands and it’s up to the young prince to retake his place as the rightful King.

The whole family can experience the pulsating rhythms of Africa without ever leaving Des Moines. From April 28 through May 17, 2015, Lion King will be playing at the Des Moines’ Civic Center to bring you the show that has left audiences awe-inspired all over the globe. The curtains rise to reveal the Pride Lands at 7:30pm nightly except Sundays. Matinees begin at 2:00pm on Saturdays. Sunday performances are at 1:00pm and 6:30pm. Mondays the theatre is dark. The show runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
