Les Miserables Thousand Oaks | Fred Kavli Theatre

Les Miserables Thousand Oaks | Fred Kavli Theatre

Coming to Thousand Oaks this fall is Cameron Mackintosh’s 25th anniversary reboot of the Boublil and Schonberg classic ‘Les Miserables’, slated for a week-long run at the Fred Kavli Theatre (Musical Theatre) at the Civic Arts Plaza from September 4 to 9, 2012.

A rousing and resonating musical of epic proportions, ‘Les Miserables’ is a renowned and revered Broadway standard against which other musicals are stacked up. Featuring a grittier story that delves into the limits, motivations and various characters of the human spirit – the dreamer, the fighter, the courageous, the desperate, the sorrowful, the triumphant – a rejuvenated score and repertoire of songs which includes beloved show tune standards such as “Dream the Dream”, and an amazing, well-envisioned, enigmatic and stirring set design inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, there is no doubt that this re-launch is designed and presented to impress everyone – from the most novice of fans to the seasoned critic; with The London Times writing it as “a five star hit, astonishingly powerful,” and The New York Times raving it as “an unquestionably spectacular production from start to finish.”

‘Les Miserables’ will play the Fred Kavli Theatre (Musical Theatre) at 8 PM except on Sunday, September 9 when it plays at 7:30 PM. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on September 8 and 9. The performance running time is 2 hours 50 minutes with 1 intermission.
