Now on tour is the critically acclaimed and smash hit Cameron Mackintosh produced revival of the Boublil & Schonberg classic ‘Les Miserables’. As part of its 25th year anniversary celebration, the legendary musical goes all across America to spread the message of optimism, joy and hope. One of its first stops at the start of 2012 will be the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Orlando, FL, from January 17 to 22.

“An unquestionable spectacular production from start to finish”, as The New York Times puts it, this new production of ‘Les Mis’ is revitalized for modern times with its faster pacing and tighter story-telling, while keeping true with its compelling and gritty nature. The musical continues to be a celebration of life, hope and survival amidst and after clouds of despair and misery. Adding spice to the recharged version is a more captivating set design, inspired by the artworks of Victor Hugo, who penned the original story from which the musical is adapted. All these combined plus the classic songs that made this show a legend in musical theatre, such as ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and ‘On My Own’, make this revival “astonishingly powerful”, as praised by The London Times.

Evening performances for ‘Les Miserables’ are at 8 PM from January 17 to 21 and 6:30 PM on January 22. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on January 21 and 1 PM on January 22. The performance running time is 2 hours 50 minutes with 1 intermission.
