Washington DC, make way for a fabulous and glamorous parade of shoes of all shapes and colors this June! Kinky Boots, the high heeled Broadway hit that won the Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Score in 2013, joins the stellar line up of shows for the 2015-2016 theater season of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Opening on June 14, 2016, Kinky Boots takes over the Opera House stage for four exciting weeks until July 10, 2016.

Winner of six Tony Awards, Kinky Boots follows the story of Charlie Price, a newbie businessman who reluctantly takes over their family’s show making business after his father’s death. With the future of his gentleman’s shoe factory precariously hanging in balance, help comes to Charlie in the form of Lola, a fabulously glamorous drag artist who is in need of new sturdy stilettos. Inspired by a true story, and featuring Cyndi Lauper’s award-winning score, Kinky Boots takes its Washington DC audience from Charlie’s Northampton factory to the glitzy Milan catwalks.

Don’t miss the huge-hearted Kinky Boots as it plays the Opera House from Tuesday to Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM. The regular matinee shows every Saturday and Sunday are at 1:00 PM, with a special 1:00 PM performance on July 7 (Thursday). With one intermission, each Kinky Boots show runs for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
