Hamilton San Diego | San Diego Civic Theatre

San Diego Civic Theatre proudly brings you Hamilton from 3 – 28 January 2018. Hamilton celebrates American history and culture through sizzling musical theatre performances. The show is appropriate for ages above 10 years since it is comprised of strong language.

Hamilton is based on Ron Chenow’s biography of founding father Alexander Hamilton and was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It is the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and later became the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Hamilton is the story of America currently told through the fusion of musical theatre including hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway. The New York Times observes that β€œIn Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda forges democracy through Rap.” This history is being told today from a different perspective that will truly appeal to your emotions. This show is not to be missed since it will enlighten you about the evolution of American history.
