Christina Ricci Goes Off-Broadway for Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

Christina Ricci is returning to the stage this spring to star in an off-Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The Classic Stage Company production is bringing the star power by pairing Ricci with Tony Award winning actress Bebe Neuwirth.

Neuwirth won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in Sweet Charity on Broadway in 1986. Ten years later she won another Tony and Drama Desk Award for her role in Chicago. Bebe Neuwirth has also starred in televisions “Frasier” and “Cheers.”

Christina Ricci made her Broadway debut in September 2010 in Time Stands Still. Currently she is starring in the television series “Pan Am.” Ricci has appeared in over 40 movies during her career including memorable turns in “Sleepy Hollow,” “The Ice Storm” and “The Addams Family.” She won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Ricci will play the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Neuwirth will star as Titania in the production. The play is scheduled to run March 28 through May 6, 2012. The run of the play should not interfere with Ricci’s bustling television career
