It’s Dayton’s turn to be treated to pure Broadway entertainment as Book of Mormon is set to conquer the Schuster Center stage from August 18, 2015 to August 23, 2015. Since its very successful 2011 premiere on the Great White Way, Book of Mormon has been consistently taking the theater world by storm, delighting its audiences, and breaking records.
Two optimistic, fresh-faced Mormon missionaries travel to Uganda to evangelize but are jarred by the harsh realities of the real world outside Salt Lake City. In a village ruled by a vicious warlord and gripped by terror, hunger, and despair, the missionaries try their best to convert the locals to Mormonism. A hilarious and sensational religious satire musical, Book of Mormon is considered by Ben Brantley of The New York Times as the “best musical” of the century. From the creators of the iconic South Park and Avenue Q, Book of Mormon is the Tony winner for Best Musical in 2011.
Don’t miss the side-splitting Book of Mormon shows at the Schuster Center on August 18 to 21 (Tuesday to Friday) at 8 PM, on August 22 (Saturday) at 2 PM and 8 PM, and on August 23 (Sunday) at 2 PM and 7:30 PM. With one intermission, Book of Mormon runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
