The M&T Bank Broadway Series proudly presents ‘The Book of Mormon’, playing week-long in June 2015, from the 2nd to the 7th at the Shea’s Performing Arts Center. The touring company will star Billy Harrigan Tighe, as lead character Elder Price.
‘The Book of Mormon’ was the major sweeper at the 2011 Tony Awards, bagging nine honors including Best Musical. “The best musical of this century” as The New York Times calls it, ‘Mormon’ comes from the witty and daring creative geniuses who gave us TV’s ‘South Park’, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and the Tony winning composer and co-creator of ‘Avenue Q’, Robert Lopez. This production has all the elements of a modern Broadway hit – comedy, parody, catchy music, relevance and substance; a highly entertaining musical that is not your average Broadway show, and as Jon Stewart of The Daily Show puts it, ‘The Book of Mormon’ is “a crowning achievement. So good it makes me angry.” The performance running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes with 1 intermission.
