Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergen, John Larroquette Sign on for ‘Best Man’

Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergen, John Larroquette join a cast which includes Michael McKeen and James Earl Jones for the Broadway revival of Gore Vidal’s “The Best Man.” The play originally ran in 1960 dealing with a Presidential Election will be timely again as the Presidential Campaign for the 2012 Election will be in full swing when the opening night of April 1, 2012 arrives.

The 86 year old Angela Lansbury has starred on the movie screen, television and the theatre stage during her career. Angela has won six Golden Globe Awards and five Tony Awards during a stellar career which spans an amazing eight decades and 67 years. Lansbury is not done yet as she signs onto this cast for 2012.

Candice Bergman has won five Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for her best known work starring in the television hit “Murphy Brown.” Bergman is still appearing on television as she has had three appearances in 2011 on the show “House.” Candice also has a film career which began in 1966 with the film “The Group.”

John Larroquette has starred in television shows, film and theatre. He won a Drama Desk Award and Tony Award for his Broadway debut in “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.” His starring roles on television have included “Doctors’ Hospital,” “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” “Night Court” and most recently “Boston Legal.”

Casting is not complete for “The Best Man” so more stars will be joining the cast. Lansbury, Bergen and Larroquette certainly add star power to an already incredible cast.
