Wicked Touring Cast Adds Jenn Gambatese, Curt Hansen

Jenn Gambatese and Curt Hansen will join the North American tour of “Wicked” over the next month.

Gambatese will take over the role of Glinda tomorrow, February 26, when the production is in Costa Mesa, California at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The production will play at the venue through March 17. Hensen will take over the role of Fiyero starting March 20. The production will be in Tucson, Arizona at that time.

Hansen has been seen on Broadway in “Hairspray” and “Next to Normal.” He was also featured in the first national tour of the latter. Other cast members of the show include Clifton Davis (Dr. Dillamond), Justin Brill (Boq), Demaree Hill (Nessarose) and Laurel Harris, the standby for Elphaba.

The national tour of “Wicked” currently is scheduled to run at least through July 6 of next year, with two companies moving around the country. Upcoming productions will be held in Charlotte; Rochester, New York; Dallas; New Orleans; Milwaukee; Philadelphia; Houston; Boston; Minneapolis and Cincinnati, among others.

“‘Wicked’ is the untold story of the witches of Oz,” says the show’s official website. “Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. ‘Wicked’ tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.”
