Kristin Chenoweth to Tour the U.K. in March

Kristin Chenoweth will follow up her sold out U.S. tour with a short U.K. tour later this March.

Things will kick off with a London show at the London Coliseum on March 11, and the Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress will also visit Manchester (March 13), Edinburgh (March 15) and Cardiff (March 17).

“The show is an eclectic mix of musical wonderment, reflective of Kristin herself,” read a statement announcing the tour on Chenoweth’s official website. “The show includes material from the worlds of opera, pop and musical theater, songs from her celebrated album, and music from the shows that have made Kristin one of the most revered musical theater actresses of her generation. Her recent U.S. tour garnered unanimous rave reviews in every city it played.”

The show is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, and Rob Fisher provides musical direction. Tyler Hanes is choreographer of the production and also appears as a singer and dancer in the show along with Will Taylor and Jennifer Diamond. Matt Berman handled both sound and lighting design for the show.

Chenoweth released her most recent album, Some Lessons Learned, in late 2011. The album contains songs by Diane Warren, Dolly Parton and Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum – Chenoweth co-wrote two songs on the album.

The singer and actress is probably best known on Broadway for originating the role of Glinda in the original cast of “Wicked,” and also has appeared in “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown,” “The Apple Tree” and “Promises, Promises.” She won an Emmy Award for her role as Olive Snook in “Pushing Daisies” and was nominated for an Emmy for her performance as April Rhodes on “Glee.” She also appeared in a recurring role on “The West Wing.” Most recently she stared in the ABC show “GCB,” though the show was cancelled in May of last year.
