Blue Man Group to Star on Finale of ‘America’s Got Talent’
Blue Man Group will be among many stars in this year’s two-hour season finale of “America’s Got Talent.”
The group will perform their hit “Shake Your Euphemism” on the episode, which is set to air tomorrow (September 13) from 8 – 10 p.m. Eastern time on NBC. The song is featured in all performance by the group as they travel the world, and incorporates as many alternate words for ‘derriere’ as you can probably think of. Other performers announced to appear on the episode include Green Day, Justin Bieber and NE-YO.
The appearance on “America’s Got Talent” will precede the Blue Man Group’s newest production, which will premiere at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in October of this year. The Las Vegas show was previously known as “Bluephoria” and held at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, where it had played since 2005.
In addition to Las Vegas, Blue Man Group also has ongoing residencies in New York City, Boston, Chicago and Orlando. The New York incarnation has been performed at the Astor Place Theatre since 1991.
Additionally, an ongoing U.S. national tour continuously travels around the nation, and a show has been held on the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic ship since 2010. Productions have also been previously held around the world in countries including Japan, German, U.K., Switzerland, Sweden and Austria.
The Blue Man Group is now in its third decade, and was originally founded by Chris Wink, Phil Stanton and Matt Goldman. Thus far, the Blue Man Group production has been experienced by more than 25 million people around the world. The productions incorporate music, comedy and multimedia elements to form a one-of-a-kind experience. The new Vegas production at the Monte Carlo is said to provide a fully immersive audiovisual experience for audience members.
