Wicked Milwaukee | Marcus Center
People from all over the world can’t seem to get enough of this groundbreaking musical, and its fans in Milwaukee definitely want in – again. ‘Wicked’ returns to Milwaukee for a two-week run at the Marcus Center from November 4 to 15, 2015.
“A cultural phenomenon” as Variety calls it, ‘Wicked’ is highly regarded as a theatrical game-changer, changing the landscape of Broadway productions with its daring and vivid take on one of literature and musical theatre’s iconic villains, the Wicked Witch of the West who first gained notoriety in L. Frank Baum’s ‘The Wizard of Oz’. ‘Wicked’ on the other hand will remind audiences that there are always two sides to every story, and this side will show everyone what the Wicked Witch – or Elphaba, as she is initially known in Munchkinland – is all about; a side that no one has seen, heard or learned about her and will surely change people’s opinions of her. ‘Wicked’ presents a humanizing, revealing and endearing story about the Wicked Witch, her friend and rival Glinda the Good Witch and their transformative and journey-like lives in Munchkinland and Oz which together, forges “the most complete – and completely satisfying – new musical in a long time” (USA Today).
‘Wicked’ will play the Marcus Center at 7:30 PM from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6:30 PM on Sundays. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on Saturdays and 1 PM on Sundays, with a special Saturday matinee on November 14 at 2 PM. The performance running time is 2 hours and 45 minutes with 1 intermission.
