Kristen Bell, Hunter Parrish, Amber Riley Star in ‘Hair’ at Hollywood Bowl
The previously announced upcoming production of Hair at this year’s Hollywood Bowl will star Kristin Bell a Sheila, Hunter Parrish as Claude, and Amber Rile as Dionne. They will be joining a cast that includes Jenna Ushkowitz as Jeanie and Beverly D’Angelo as Mom. The production is scheduled to run August 1-3.
Kristin Bell is perhaps best known for her roles as Veronica Mars and as the voice of Anna in Disney’s Frozen. She has starred on Broadway in The Crucible and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, as well as the Off-Broadway production Reefer Madness. Other credits for the actress include Showtime’s House of Lies and the feature film Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Hunter Parrish is best known for his role as Silas Botwin on Showtime’s Weeds. He has also appeared on Broadway as Melchior in Spring Awakening and Jesus in Godspell. His other credits include films 17 Again, Freedom Writers, and It’s Complicated.
Amber Riley is best known for her role as Mercedes Jones on the hit FOX musical comedy Glee. She recently won season 17 of ABC’s dancing competition show Dancing with the Stars. She also debuted at City Center in Duke Ellington’s Cotton Club Parade.
Hair tells the story of group of young people who promote a lifestyle of peace, love, freedom, and joy in a society plagued by the suffering, intolerance, and brutality of the Vietnam War. It is directed and choreographed by Adam Shankman, with Zach Woodlee serving as associate director and choreographer.
