‘Book of Mormon,’ ‘Once,’ ‘Motown’ Hit Houston During 2014-15 Swing
Gexa Energy Broadway released its 2014-15 season which is set to include Book of Mormon, Once, and Motown as part of a six show line-up. The season will open with Cole Porter’s Anything Goes, October 14-19, 2014.
The schedule for the productions is as follows:
> Anything Goes : October 14-19, 2014
> Dirty Dancing : November 18-23, 2014
> The Book of Mormon : January 20- February 8, 2015
> Once : March 10-15, 2015
> Mamma Mia! : April 14-19, 2015
> Newsies : May 19-24, 2015
> Motown the Musical : July 21-26, 2015.
The Rockettes will also join the Houston line-up for a special Christmas show at the end of this year, courtesy of Gexa Energy Broadway and Theatre Under the Stars in a special co-production. The production entitled, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular will run December 5-28, 2014.
President of the Hobby Center Foundation Fran Macferran shared in a statement, “This season again celebrates the diversity of Broadway and brings its biggest hits and widely-loved classics to Houston. We’re thrilled to welcome the return of audience favorites like the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and look forward to bringing new shows Houston is sure to enjoy like Disney’s Newsies and multiple Tony Award winner Once.”
Season tickets for the 2014-15 Gexa Energy Broadway at the Hobby Center series are currently on sale. Individual tickets will be available six to eight weeks prior to each scheduled performance.
