Peter and the Star Catcher Tour Casts Joey deBettencourt, John Sanders, Megan Stern
The cast of the national tour of Peter and the Star Catcher has been announced, and it has revealed that actors Joey deBettencourt, John Sanders, and actress Megan Stern will grace the stage with their presence by starring in the highly acclaimed show.
All three actors are quite accredited in their own right, each having a successful career prior to their selection to work in this production. Joey deBettencourt who will play the role of Boy has appeared in shows such as South of Settling and Cherrywood. Megan Stern who will play the role of Molly has appeared in Be the Death of Me and The Material World. John Sanders was a part of the original Broadway cast and will play the same role in this show as Black Stache. Sanders’ other credits include roles in the Broadway production of Matilda and the national tour of Mamma Mia. The show will also include several other talented actors adding up to a total of 12 who will play the roles of over 100 characters in this imaginative and playful show.
The Tony Award winning musical production which is based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, is adapted by Rick Elice who is known for The Addams Family and Jersey Boys. It delves into the origins of Peter Pan in a unique and creative way that easily captivates the audience. It reignites childhood fantasies while telling the classic age-old story that so many people have come to love. It is produced by Nancy Nagel Gibbs, Eva Price, Greg Schaffert, Tom Smedes, and Disney Theatrical productions.
Other play greats include sound design by Tony Award winner Darron West, set design by Tony Award winner Donyale Werle, and costume design by Paloma Young who is another Tony Award winner.
The show first originated at the New York Theatre Workshop. It then made the move to Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 15, 2012. It won 5 Tony Awards and had 319 regular performances. The show was then transferred off-Broadway to the New World Stages where it is currently showing. Over the course of the 2013-14 season, the national tour of the production is expected to run in several cities. Such cities include Washington, DC, Chicago and Los Angeles.
