Wicked Providence | Providence Performing Arts Center

Wicked Providence | Providence Performing Arts Center

You’re in for treat this holiday season as Wicked flies into town and turns the Providence Performing Arts Center into the magical land of Oz this September to October.

Magic gone awry, love triangles, a handsome prince, and a rivalry that turns into something more powerful that even the greatest Wizard in all the land could have imagined — Wicked was a story made to be set to music and put on the Broadway stage! With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz based on the novel by Greg Maguire, Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz, turns the classic story of Frank L. Baum on it’s heels as it reveals the events that occurred before an innocent, young Dorothy and her little dog followed the Yellow Brick Road to find a way back home to Kansas.

Wicked at the Providence Performing Arts Center will run from September 21 till October 8, 2016.

Broadway Tour
Average rating:

“The musical has a lot going for it, from the catchy tunes to Eugene Lee’s brilliant clockwork sets. But the key is the relationship between Elphaba, the wicked (and very green) witch, and her enemy-turned-friend Glinda.” – Andy Smith of Providence Journal

“If you haven’t experienced “Wicked” as this reviewer had not until this tour, it is a musical filled with fun songs, grand set pieces and even grander performances. Appropriate for all ages, although very small children may be frightened the Wizard set piece or our ever-present dragon. But you’ll be singing these numbers and talking about the show to your friends and co-workers. After all, who doesn’t love the story of the Wizard of Oz?” – Will Demers of Edge Providence, Rhode Island
