Wicked Omaha | Orpheum Theatre

Wicked Omaha | Orpheum Theatre

For a limited time only, experience the magical, gravity defying, Tony-award winning, hit Broadway musical Wicked when it comes to Omaha’s Orpheum Theatre in May 2014.

The story of how a little girl named Dorothy landed in Munchkinland and followed the Yellow Brick Road to meet the Wizard in the Emerald City has captivated audiences for decades. But not everyone knows that they have seen only half of the picture. Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz tells the tale of the events that happened in Oz as you’ve never seen it before. Find out how an odd green girl named Elphaba became friends with the ambitious blonde Glinda and how they changed the course of history in the twisted, fantastical land of Oz.

The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Omaha transforms into Oz from May 7 through 25, 2014. Don’t miss this chance to watch the modern classic Broadway extravaganza hosted by Omaha Performing Arts.

“OMAHA | If you’re a “Frozen” fan, you’re going to love the touring production of “Wicked.” In addition to dropping those key words – “let it go” – the 10-year-old musical makes a big case for friendship, support and honesty. It’s the ultimate “girl power” show – and, yes, it’s beautifully done.” – Bruce R. Miller of Sioux City Journal

“The musical very cleverly weaves in references to the familiar version of “The Wizard of Oz” such as explaining why the Tin Man has no heart and where the ruby slippers (originally silver) came from. Even the spectacular production design has subtle references to the classic film and story with a bouquet of poppies here and a pair of striped stockings (clearly fashionable in Oz) there.” – Katrina Markel of The Daily Nonpareil
