War Horse Cincinnati | Aronoff Center
The Tony Award winning play ‘War Horse’, based on the Michael Morpungo novel of the same name, is slated to play Cincinnati from March 26 to April 7, 2013 via the Procter and Gamble Hall of the Aronoff Center for the Arts.
Set in pre-World War I England, ‘War Horse’ follows the touching story of young Albert and his horse Joey. The two become separated as Joey is sold off to the cavalry and is eventually caught between the crossfire from both sides of the warring camps. Albert is way too young at the time to enlist and join Joey in the battlefield but that doesn’t deter him to embark on his own quest to find his horse which is now caught in no man’s land. This moving and heartwarming tale of everlasting friendship, loyalty and unbelievable courage is underscored by life-size and life-like horse puppets crafted by the Handspring Puppet Company of South Africa, imparting greater visual impact to this emotionally charged production.
Show times for ‘War Horse’ are at 8 PM from Tuesdays to Saturdays and 6:30 PM on Sundays. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on Saturdays and 1 PM on Sundays. The performance running time is 2 hours and 40 minutes with 1 intermission.
