Tuck Everlasting Boston | Citi Colonial Theatre
The Citi Colonial Theatre in Boston will play host to the world premiere of the new musical ‘Tuck Everlasting’, slated for a three-week summer run from May 26 to June 15, 2013.
From Tony Award nominee Claudia Shear comes a new musical adaptation based on Natalie Babbitt’s novel of the same name. In ‘Tuck Everlasting’, lead character Winnie Foster is dying to explore a world outside the confines of their picketed home. Leaving her grandmother and mother behind, she dares to go deep through the woods and ends up meeting the Tuck family, a secretive and reclusive bunch whose way of life is side-splittingly different from Winnie’s. As Winnie unearths the Tucks’ secrets, she joins them on a rare adventure, bringing their differences in perspectives on the surface and challenging each of them to defy their known norms in an attempt to live a full and free life. The musical features the music of Chris Miller, lyrics penned by Nathan Tysen and the direction and choreography of Casey Nicholaw, who recently earned a Tony Award for his work in ‘The Book of Mormon’.
