The hills of Costa Mesa will come alive with music this summer! Sound of Music, the new production of a widely-loved musical classic, is part of the impressive line up of shows for the 2015-2016 Broadway Across America Orange County. Opening on July 19, 2016, Sound of Music has a 16-show engagement at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts until July 31, 2016.

After mesmerizing its audiences on the Great White Way, Sound of Music embarks on its much anticipated national tour. Directed by Jack O’Brien, it retells the unforgettable story of Maria and the Trapp family. With music by Richard Rodgers, book by Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsay, and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, Sound of Music is loosely based on the memoir of Maria Trapp. It features its award-winning score that include classics like “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sound of Music,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Edelweiss.” Sound of Music‘s film version, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, remains to be most successful and most beloved movie musical of all time.

Join the Trapp family as Sound of Music plays the Segerstrom Center for the Arts form Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 PM, on Saturdays at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and on Sundays at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Each Sound of Music show runs for 174 minutes.
