Of Mice and Men New York | Longacre Theatre

George and Lennie, two displaced ranch workers who are bound by friendship, wander through California during the Great Depression to find work and dream of a future where they can farm on their own piece of land. The harsh realities of the world sink in when George, an intelligent yet uneducated man, must choose between his friendship with Lennie, a strong and simple-minded man, and the pursuit of their unattainable dream for a better life.

Originally penned by Jonathan Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men has recieved much critical acclaim, scandal, and laureates since it’s original publication in 1937, and is required reading in many educational institutions around the world. This new Broadway production stars Hollywood heartthrob James Franco in the role of George, marking his debut on the Great White Way.

Of Mice and Men, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, will play at the Longacre Theatre from April 16 through July 27, 2014 with previews starting march 19, 2014.
